Making carbon fiber heated gloves


Such gloves will be useful to motorcyclists, cyclists, fishermen, people spending a lot of time outdoors in winter. The master loves cycling and does not like when his hands freeze. He also loves to make everything do it yourself. And he decided to make gloves for cycling himself. For the manufacture of gloves he needed the following

Tools and materials:
-Carbon cable;
-Gloves;
-The wire;
-Glue;
-Thermotube;
- "Crocodiles";
-Silicone;
- AKB 7.4 V -2 pcs;

- Switches -2 pcs;
-LEDs - 2 pcs;
- Clothespins;
-Soldering accessories;
-Lighter;

Step One: Theory
The glove will be heated with carbon fiber. The fiber on each glove is fixed according to the pattern.

As you can see on the glove, there are three circuits connected in parallel: thumb, index finger - middle, ring finger - little finger.
Step Two: Carbon
The master’s carbon was large in diameter and therefore warmed strongly, and the battery was low. The master dismissed the wire and made another wire from two veins. Two cores with a supply of 7.4 V are heated to 38 degrees and a Li-ion 2,600 mA battery is put in 4.5 hours. When a third core is added, the battery runs out in 3, 25 hours.

All calculations are correct for a wire length of 40 cm. Unfortunately, the master does not indicate the diameter, but the link to the cable is broken and the diameter of the original cable is not clear. But there are many examples on the network how to calculate a heating cable. By the way, it is possible to get carbon wire from it, removing the insulation. And you can not remove it, but use a thin heating cable.







Step Three: Fix Carbon
Lays veins according to the previously given scheme. It is fixed first with superglue, and then with auto-sealant. The master did not need a temperature regulator, since the cable heats up to 38 degrees. But, if the master used three or more cores, the temperature would be higher, and then a thermostat is put in the circuit. Around the temperature regulator, 2-3 turns of cable are wound, it is fixed to the glove.

Step Four: Wires
Connects wires to the ends of the circuits.The junction is insulated with heat pipes. Mounts an LED and a power switch in a circuit.












Step Five: Silicone
Using a syringe, silicone is applied to the heating cable. Levels with a toothpick.



Step Six: Battery
It solders plugs to the wires, and a connector to the terminals of the battery compartment.


It remains to install the batteries, fasten them with a wrist strap and you can go on a bike ride.
