I began to make the logo of the most popular operating system called Linux.
First you need to print our logo on a laser color printer. You can only print on a laser on a specially designed film.

The essence of my idea is very simple - to laminate the resulting picture between two pieces of plexiglass. I used the thinnest plexiglass from the CD box. Everything is quite simple, and it came out the first time. It is necessary to drip two drops of silicone sealant and displace excess air by squeezing with your fingers. There are two nuances. To make the picture more juicy, you need to carefully combine the two pictures.
Then, when the sealant dries, you should cut the resulting logo along the contours. You should not try to do this using epoxy .. it cannot adhere to organics.
Now the second method. To understand it, I’ll tell you briefly how laser printers work, and many people think that a thermal beam burns letters on paper ... The physics of laser printing is very simple .. in the printer itself, the laser beam draws the desired image on a special drum. Powder adheres to this laser image. Thus, an image is first formed on the drum. Then, it is rolled directly onto the paper and fixed there by heating to two hundred degrees.
We return, however, to the logos. The essence of our method is based on the reverse process, that is, the implementation of thermal effects on the image printed on a laser printer. In practice, this is done elementarily with a conventional iron.
The first experience is a bit unsuccessful, I overheated a little picture and thin Plexiglas wrinkled a little ...
Do not forget to lay a clean paper sheet so that nothing can stick to the iron itself.
It has already turned out much better. To get the most juicy image, you need to roll 3-4 images in one place. I use regular plexiglass.
After receiving the logo itself of normal quality, you need to varnish it from a spray can, this will remove the matte coating from the surface of organic matter, which occurs from heating, and will help protect the image. Do not brush the varnish with a brush. You can smudge.
So, we got a high-quality and stable image on plexiglass using two methods and sawed out our logo on the contour. The logo needs to be made luminous. For illumination, we need to make a small headlight that gives out white diffused light of the desired brightness. The light should be strictly directed in the necessary direction so that unnecessary illumination is not created around. For this purpose, super-bright white LEDs are perfectly suitable for us, with the size of our penguin 4 * 5 cm, four diodes are enough for us. These LEDs are mounted in a specially made “headlight” housing. The case can be soldered from thin tin from any cans.
For LEDs, you can make a small scarf.
This scarf needs to be soldered into the body of the headlight itself. It is necessary to put a diffuser of light from plexiglass.
Next, wire through the existing protective tube. The backlight will be ready.
Then it remains only to paste the previously sawn logo. To do this, mark and carefully cut out the necessary space under it.
Then you need to degrease all the parts and fill with epoxy.
When pouring, you need to pay close attention to air bubbles, the only undetected bubble can ruin hopelessly all work ... They can be easily removed with a lighter and a needle.
After the polymerization of the resin, it is necessary to strip in the water with a nuke. This moment is not suitable for all possible cases, not all places can be treated with sandpaper and not all surfaces can be scratched ... In our case, an aluminum sheet needs to be sanded. If the logo was cut carefully, then glue is not needed at all, or the minimum amount ...
It turned out very cool, it looks great and glows brightly, it is not felt at all by hand.
