1. In order to get to the electrical part from the kettle, from the side of its bottom, remove the panel-lid hiding it. Just unscrewing three mounting screws from it.
At the same time, they make sure that inadvertently does not break the wires of the indicator lamp and it itself, fixed in the lid.
2. After removing the panel, carefully inspect all the wires and contacts of the electric part of the kettle that are visible to the eye - connecting the heater and the indicator light for turning on the device. Among them, of course, there should not be sunburned or disconnected from the mounts.
3. The system of protection against overheating is in contact with the bottom of the kettle, mounted on the node connecting it to the mains and has mounted contacts in it.
Thermal protection is necessary for the electric kettle to turn off when turned on empty. Otherwise, it may just ignite. Structurally, its temperature sensor is made in the form of a metal plate with a tongue.
The plate is in direct contact with the bottom of the kettle, when it is heated, it also heats up and changes shape, which means that the tab presses it on the ceramic rod located on the contact plate of the protection system and opens its circuit. As a result, the entire power supply of the device is open.
With a defective thermal protection, its contacts are open continuously and that is why the kettle does not turn on. You can repair such an electric kettle by simply tightly closing the contacts of the protection system with a jumper, excluding the contact plate with the rod from its circuit.
4. For this, the node connecting the electricity to the kettle is separated from its body by unscrewing the fixing nuts and removing it from the three bolts mounted in the bottom of the electric kettle.
5. Remove the metal plate from the connection node by bending the three staples with which it is attached to it.
6. The contacts of the thermal protection of the electric kettle are closed with a sufficiently thick wire, soldered to their ends.
An electric kettle repaired in this way turns on flawlessly, but it will be necessary to use it in the future very carefully. The heater of an electric kettle devoid of an overheat protection system will work even if it is empty, and this is fraught with its fire and fire in the room.
