The whole belt, and the truth, can be cut only by turning the engine ... Question: why the heck is it spending half a day ?? )))) And yes ... sometimes "gears" have sides ..
And what you wrote is true .... Only for a specific machine ... Because ...
The tensioner, for example, can be squeezed out by mounting (sometimes) .. And sometimes it is NOT at all! Pomp stretches toothed ..
(And, by the way, the pump .. Do you have it on the gear ?? And if the engine is OHV or OHC? Where, then, look for the second camshaft?)))) (Although ... I wrote nonsense about OHV.))) There’s a belt not at all)))
And Dmitry is now trying to cut the chain along)))). Fortunately, it is two-row.)))))))) dance3
All this stuff is fake from start to finish.
Let him show how ALL of the old belt cut along. How to throw a new belt on the crankshaft gear. And, most importantly, what he did with the tensioner.
And why all this fuss with an old belt is necessary if the new belt is put easily and freely in a few minutes. There are only three marks - one on the crankshaft and one on the camshafts. And the belt is placed first on the crankshaft, then the damper, the right camshaft, the left camshaft and at the end the tensioner.

For what I bought - for that I sold =).

Well ... It's easier for someone! ...
He knew a man with just the same reverential fear of “knocking down the marks on his belt” ... When replacing it, he also noticed all the pulleys with a white marker just in case ... And anyway, after the replacement he was afraid to spin the starter right away ...

More precisely - from the wrong)))))
Which of the correct ones, the easier and faster to set the labels)))) All that is needed is a flashlight)))

Although I'm lying, there was a belt on 2109. But there it is already not difficult to change.
Will the new belt fit so well? Is there no tensioner there? I just never had a timing belt, all the time the chain.
