Hello everyone, in this instruction we will consider a simple and fully functional design of an air-powered bicycle. Of course, such bike it’s not going to all mountains, but in a straight line it goes quite quickly and briskly. Simplicity is a good design; nothing needs to be changed in the bike nodes. The only problem is that the propellers in the back are not protected in any way, this can cause injuries to others.
As engines, the author used 4 motors for quadrocopters of the 2200kv model. Engines work in conjunction with propellers 10x4.5 in size, and feeds homemade from two 12V batteries, the total capacity of which is 14.4 Ah. The design provides controllers for engines, this allows using e handles on the steering wheel to control the speed of rotation of the propellers. If the homemade product interested you, I suggest studying it in more detail!
Materials and tools used by the author:
Material List:
- 4 ;
- two batteries 12V / 7.2 Ah;
- 4 (for current 30A);
- 4 ;
- wires;
- plastic ties;
- double sided tape;
- profile pipes.
Tool List:
- grinder;
- welding machine;
- a screwdriver.
Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Frame
The hardest part in this homemade product is to make a frame, here we need profile pipes. We take the necessary measurements, cut the pipes and weld the structure. The author’s frame is easily removable, it practically does not fasten at all, it just rests on the frame details. This will allow you to quickly remove the entire structure, well, the main plus is that you do not need to spoil the bike. We surely paint the manufactured frame, since the profile pipes quickly rust.
Step Two Equipment installation
Then it remains to install engines and other parts. We fasten the motors to the frame with screws, for this we drill holes in the frame. We also install controllers on the frame, glue them with double-sided tape, and for reliability we fix with plastic ties.
We carry out wiring along the frame, install an electronic handle on the steering wheel to control the speed.
In the end, it remains to install the batteries, the author mounts them to the frame using plastic ties and double-sided tape. Batteries are connected in parallel to obtain high currents and high capacity.
Step Three Test
That's all, the homemade product is ready. The author demonstrates the force of air traction to us on the curtains in the room and bushes. In general, the bike rides without problems, but the author does not give us exact numbers for distance and speed.
Good luck and creative inspiration, if you decide to repeat. Do not forget to share your ideas and homemade things with us!
