Today is not quite homemade, but I think many will come in handy this instruction for the repair of searchlights.
Everything is as always simple, they bought a spotlight in the store, it cost more than 500 rubles. I worked and burned for half a year, opened, there is a board with a bunch of SMD diodes, and a driver. All the LEDs rang, found a couple of burned out, replaced. A couple of weeks passed, during this time the spotlight worked, maybe on the weekend only 5 hours. Again it burned out, again the SMD LEDs, again soldered. He worked a couple more evenings and burned out. Tired, removed the searchlight and threw it into a long drawer. It’s a pity to throw out. Then I stumbled on YouTube to review all sorts of usefulness for the masters. And in one of the reviews there were such chip matrices. They are connected directly to a 220 volt network, just a small board with flooded LEDs, the driver circuit is soldered on it, the main requirement is cooling. I decided to order myself, the chip came, pondered and decided to change. I didn’t take photos, I didn’t plan to write articles, but it was decided to make a video right away, so there is only a video for repair. True, this particular spotlight is heated quite strongly, but does not burn out. As long as it is left this way, the fire will burn, the fire will burn, we will change not only the chip matrix, but also modify the radiator.
Vidos is uploaded to YouTube on June 12, 2018, and at the moment on April 7, 2019, the redesigned LED spotlight works flawlessly. Sometimes in the evenings it burns in the garage, hours for 5. In general, I am satisfied with this repair. The difference is, buy a new floodlight for 600-800 rubles, or buy a matrix in China for 100 rubles and change it yourself.

Drugan brought another searchlight for repair, and paid for the module, I immediately 2 modules. One to him, the other I’ll put myself somewhere, or let him lie in stock. This searchlight was dragged to him in scrap metal at the reception.
Modules came and everything worked out right away. But here, in truth, a miracle happened.The Chinese matrix for fixtures ideally approached the native holes from the old LED assembly, although the native assembly was different. There were purely LEDs, the driver was placed outside the spotlight in a box. In principle, this is visible on the video. Here in this spotlight the radiator is already more impressive. And the heat dissipates better. I gave the spotlight to my friend after replacing the LED matrix, it still works. We repaired this spotlight in December 2018. For almost half a year there shines in his garage.

At the moment there are no 10-watt matrices, I also bought these for myself, and I really regretted it. One burned out right away, the second still works instead of a strobe, but there really isn’t any light from them. Well, if only to embed into some kind of table lamp so that only the table is illuminated. In the garage space, 10 watts from such a spotlight is rather weak.
