DIY wooden castle

Hello dear readers and the inhabitants of our site!
In this article, Jack, the author of YouTube channel "Jack Houweling" intends to tell you about how to make a wooden castle.

In the last article Jack showed the interested audience how to make wooden hinges. Both the hinges and the lock are made by the master for one project - a personal locker, and are a set of wooden accessories for of furniture.

Materials
- Plexiglass
- Brazilian cherry
- PVA glue
- Bolts, nuts M6.

Instruments, used by the author.
- A circular saw
- Drilling machine

- Wrench
- Drills on wood, ruler, clamps, pencil.

Manufacturing process.
Initially, the master made a primitive prototype of the castle to test its functionality. With a specially made key, Jack easily unlocks and closes the lock again. Model works successfully.

On the left, he installs another element of the lock - the lock panel.

Having ascertained that the system works perfectly, the author proceeds to manufacture an improved version of the lock. The pieces of wood left over from the last project, wooden hinges, are used.

The back of the castle will be made of these three blanks.

In one of the parts cuts out three grooves for the levers.

Jack uses a piece of maple wood to make suvald. He cuts out several blanks to see if they fit.

And they are great. Later, he cuts them a little in length.

This part will be a valve. Jack will slightly reduce her size so that she glides better.

Now these elements of the lock case should be glued together.

Jack rounds the lower parts for easy opening.

On the bar of the future valve, the master drills three holes, and then cuts wide grooves for the levers on the band saw.

Now that the valve is in place, it is clear how long the pins should be, and they can be shortened.

Further, on the valve, the author will also need to cut this section on the valve. This is a keyway. Jack will do this on a circular saw.It would be easier to trim the material with a dado disk, but the author uses a simple, single disk, slowly shifting the emphasis, until he gets the right cut width.

As an emphasis for a key, he glues a bar.

Jack then proceeds to make a key blank.

According to the configuration, the suvald forms tines on the key.

It also drills a hole in the key head.

Then creates the mating part of the castle.

So far, he uses plexiglass for the front panel of the castle, but later he intends to replace it with a wooden panel.

The author drills holes for bolts.

The master completely disassembles the lock into its constituent elements in order to open them all with a layer of linseed oil.
Then he again collects everything into a single whole, and sets it on the cabinet door.

And now the author’s castle is completely ready! It opens very simply - you need to insert the key, and raise the levers with it, then pull out the valve.

The locker turned out to be very original. Such a castle can also be made for children - it will help to clearly explain the principles of operation of the level castle.

Thanks to the author for the simple but useful device just for decoration!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
