I welcome fans to craft, today we will consider how to make a simple and reliable safe do it yourself. The safe is made of thick sheet metal and has a secret compartment. In such a safe, you can store securities, money, weapons, and, of course, good cognac. The secret compartment is in the door, it is invisible, closes well and not everyone will guess that there is something hidden. Manufacturing process homemade:
Step one. Main part
First of all, we collect the main part of the safe, we need a strong and reliable box. As a material you need to use thick sheet iron. Of course, a grinder will have to cut such a material for quite some time, so it would be nice to have a plasma cutter.
After cutting the material, weld the box, boil the joints well. We also scald the front of the safe with iron plates, this will be the frame for the door. The author welded brackets for screwing the safe to the base of the safe.
Step Two Door
The door is also cut out of thick sheet metal, we hang it on solid door hinges. We try to adjust the door so that there is a minimum clearance between it and the safe. We clean welds so that everything looks neat.
Step Three Castle
We install a reliable lock on the door; the author installs it in three places. In the front part we fasten the lock to two welded ears with bolts and nuts. Also in the back, the author welded an additional emphasis for the lock. The lock must not be forgotten to lubricate well and check the performance, otherwise the safe will then have to be cut.
Step Four Countersunk compartment
We weld the box around the lock so that the door turns out to be voluminous, and also cut out the back wall of the main door, it must be hung on the door hinges from the inside.
At the corners of a secret door, the author drilled holes for bolts with nuts, three of these bolts will be decorative, and another fourth will serve as a handle that will open the secret door. We make the hole for the handle oval and here we will use large diameter washers to hide the hole. We make a valve from a bolt, a nut and an iron rod. The locking pin itself passes through the round log through which the author drilled a hole. As a result, when the bolt is tightened, the door will be securely locked and will not hang. If desired, more bolts can be used so that an attacker needs more time to find the right bolt.
Step Five Final touches
At the end, we make the whole structure monolithic, so it will be clear where to start hacking, and the product will look much more solid. We use putty for metal, we cover all the cracks and carefully grind the safe with sandpaper. In the end, everything will be painted with spray cans.
