Sometimes a situation arises when it is necessary to make an assembly of several batteries of standard size 18650 and then similar single holder frames can come to the rescue. They are made of high-quality plastic, there is absolutely no burr. The holders are connected tightly together according to the principle of the designer. The design is collapsible. Batteries fit in frames with little effort, sit tight, do not play. It should be noted that if batteries with protection are used in the assembly, they may not fit in the holders. Holders of this kind have a number of advantages. Firstly, this way the batteries cool better. Secondly, the batteries will be protected from friction against each other due to the presence of a distance between them of the order of 1 mm. Thirdly, the design as a whole acquires additional rigidity. Fourth, the ends of the frames are equipped with protrusions that perfectly fit the nickel strips used to weld the battery packs.
The only drawback of such a framework is that the final design comes out larger in size, which in some projects is simply unacceptable.
In general, such a solution looks much better than a heat-shrink tube, because when the batteries are heated, it can peel off in places and then there is a risk that the cells will be short-circuited, and the heat shrink also loses in keeping the structure.
A fairly convenient option for various combinations of battery assemblies, especially from a large number of cells. Simple, inexpensive and completely reliable.
