Folding racks for feeders

Hello! I want to share one of my homemade.

When folded, they are very compact and take up very little space.

A bit of background. On some sections of our river, the shore is so rocky that it’s almost impossible to stick a conventional rod stand into it. And when there are several of these rods, this turns into a very annoying problem. And as luck would have it, these sites are the most catchy.

Having suffered so for half a season, I decided that this problem should be solved. And I decided. Here's how:

I made myself two folding stands for feeders. They allow you to conveniently place up to four rods and not think about the degree of soil hardness. The prototype for them was a tripod for photo cameras. He refused various adjustments in order to simplify the design and manufacture and due to the fact that the coast is relatively flat and gentle.

To make one rack you will need:
1. 3 tubes with a diameter of 16mm and a length of 600mm
2. 3 tubes with a diameter of 12mm and a length of 200mm
3. 1 tube with a diameter of 12mm and a length of 400mm
4. Two plates of PCB (or other suitable material) with a thickness of 10-15mm and a size of 80x80mm
5. Threaded rod M5 (M6) 450mm long
6. Strips of stainless steel with a thickness of 0.5-1mm, size 15x60mm in an amount of 3 pieces
7. The oxidized M3 screws and nuts with a polyethylene insert are the same M3
8. Two wing nuts M3
9. Flat and square aluminum profile 10 mm wide

Of the tools you will need a drill, a hacksaw for metal, a file, a file, a ruler, a compass, a pencil.

All materials, with the exception of textolite, were purchased at the nearest hardware store and cost 550 rubles for 2 racks.
Started with marking and pipe cutting. For legs, I cut three tubes with a diameter of 16 mm and a length of 600 mm.

For struts, three 12mm tubes with a length of 200mm.

One central 12mm tube 400mm long.

After that, I drilled holes in the right places for hinges and screws. Hinges made of stainless steel strips, rounding them around the edges. I wrapped them around the tubes, marked out and drilled holes for fixing on thick tubes and under the axis for thin ones. Screwed them into place. I inserted and secured thin spacer tubes into them.

Marked out the contours of the connecting washers on paper. The diameter of the bottom is 40, and the top is 80mm. In the places where the tubes were fastened, he drilled holes of the diameter corresponding to them and gave them a rectangular shape with a file. To simplify the drilling of holes under the axis, grind off the outside of the site. On the underside of the upper washer, I drilled a 12mm diameter guide hole.

He rounded the ends of the tubes with a file so that during rotation they would not cling to the washers. The distance between the spacer tubes and the central tube is the same and is 400mm. When the legs diverge, the hinge is higher than the small washer, which ensures its sagging and the impossibility of spontaneous folding. Then sawed off 450mm threaded rods.

It fastens the central tube to the upper washer and its upper end serves as the axis for attaching the tool holders for the rods. We twist everything into a single whole. We check the performance.

The lower washer should slide easily along the central tube without distortions or jamming. At the same time, she brings and spreads her legs. at the lower ends of the legs I sharpened and inserted fluoroplastic bushings to protect against ingress of dirt and giving a good look.

We cut a 500mm piece from an aluminum square profile. at the edges we drill holes for the lodgement fasteners. The lodgement itself is made of an aluminum strip, bending so that grooves are formed where the feeder will lie. We also drill at the ends of the holes and connect with a square profile as shown in the photo.

In the center of the square we drill a hole for the hairpin. It remains to fasten the lodgement with the wing nut to the stand, spread the legs and the stand is ready for service!

Used them until the close of the season and was very pleased!

And finally, that's what got into one of the fishing trips with their participation!

Yes! And nature is just a miracle! )
