Outdoor Wireless Call Button

When the wireless doorbell button is located outside, it is often protected from the rain by a homemade visor cut from a bottle. But the button is also affected by ultraviolet light, which makes the plastic of its body turn yellow first and then lose its strength. The author of Instructables under the nickname Treknology used a ready-made solution that has long been used in industrial equipment to protect buttons. Namely, he acquired the so-called button post case with IP67 degree of protection and a standard button without fixing, designed for installation in a 22 mm hole (there are also 16 mm). Both are in the assortment of many manufacturers of electrical products, from budget to prestigious. It is clear that since the call is wireless, metal cases are not suitable.

As you can see, the microswitch 22 mm buttons (presumably a fairly common XB5 series), the master connects in parallel with the clock button on the circuit board. Here is the same from a different angle:

Having fixed the case of the button post on the fence, the master places the small case of the bell button on the side, then closes the cover and screws in the screws that hold it:

Just in case, the master paints the case to further protect it from ultraviolet radiation. Also, visitors to such button posts on country fences do not associate with doorbells, but with electric gates and wells with submersible pumps. Therefore, the master prints as many as two stickers labeled "DOORBELL" and places one above the button, the other under it:

Such a case and a button are not cheap, especially if you take branded ones. Have they paid off? Obviously, yes: without them, the ring button in five years would have to be changed several times, and with them - not once. After the same five years, I had to climb inside only once to change the battery (12-volt, the same as in the car alarm panel or chandelier with remote control) - and everything works again. Also, sometimes you have to renew the stickers - that's all care homemade. This is it, the “eternal” outdoor bell button from Treknology.
