Hello to fans of unusual spinning gizmos. I propose to consider model interesting magnetic gravity engine. It has steel balls that run in a maze in a circle. The model is driven by a small one. Homemade the author assembled from copper wire, everything looks stylish, reminds steampunk. Of course, we would also add cobwebs, patins and make a backlight out of an incandescent bulb, so that everything would look even more mystical. Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Get balls
If you do not have balls, we are looking for an old bearing and cut the cage with a grinder. That's all, now we have many balls needed for homemade work. These balls will be caught by round magnets, which the author will fix on a rotating disk of wire.
Step Two Collect disk
First of all, we will collect the disk on which the magnets will be located. To make everything look as interesting as possible, the author made a wire disk. We will need to make many circles of different diameters from the wire, from which we will then assemble the wheel. You will need a variety of cylindrical objects, on which you will bend the rings, the author used cases from motors and other details. We solder the rings to the base of 6 straight wires, and install a coupling in the center, which will be attached to the motor shaft.
Step Three Fasten the motor to the frame
We make for the engine a simple frame of thick wire so that it can be fixed at the desired height. The author bent the frame in the form of the letter "P" and soldered the motor to it.It is important to clean the engine body with sandpaper, since zinc is usually there. We try not to warm the motor much, we work quickly with a well-heated soldering iron.
Step Four Base
We make the base, it must be hollow inside if you want to hide the batteries inside. We assemble the base from fiberboard or similar material. Well, then we drill holes and glue the frame into the base with the help of superglue.
We install magnets on the disk, you can simply solder steel nickels to which your magnets will stick. The magnets themselves cannot be heated, they will be demagnetized. You can also stick magnets on.
Step Five Maze
We collect the labyrinth along which the ball will move. It must go from top to bottom so that the ball rolls under the influence of gravity. Everything is assembled from wire, the racks are glued to the base. We launch the ball from above and see if it rolls down. From below, the ball should be picked up by a magnet, and from above it will break away from the magnet and roll down.
Step Six The final
At the end, we install the battery holder in the base, everything works from just one finger battery, the motor can be found at 3V or less. We also install a button, and it is better to make an old knife switch and a control panel in the steampunk style. That's all, the homemade work perfectly, everything looks great.
