Manufacturing process.
First of all, the master prepares three bars of different types of wood, oak and cherry.
The resulting blanks are cut lengthwise on a miter saw.
The master also found three old huge bolts, and cleaned them with a metal brush.
Two holes for connecting studs are drilled in all three boards.
Studs are trimmed with a margin for blind nuts.
Now you can connect wooden blocks with the help of studs with blind nuts. If desired, carpentry glue can be added to the joints.
The surface of the resulting shield is polished with an orbital machine, and the faces are processed manually with sandpaper.
Next, the master needs to mark the location of the bolts on the shield, and find their centers.
Holes are drilled for mounting to the wall, and for mounting bolts to the shield.
The author originally planned to attach bolts to the shield with small screws. He greases the end face of the bolt with oil, and drills a hole in it, checking its depth with a caliper.
It also lubricates the cutting edges of the tap with oil, and starts cutting threads.
But at the end of the cut, the tap solemnly breaks off. To get it in this case is extremely problematic.
Then the master decides to go the other way, and change the method of fastening the bolts. He drills blind holes in the shield itself with a Forstner drill.
Then it mixes the components of acrylic glue, and glues the bolts into place.
After polymerization of the glue, it impregnates all wooden surfaces with tung oil and waxes it.
The product itself is ready, now you need to fix it on the wall. The author marks the first hole for the anchor, and drills it. Then the anchor is driven into it.
By exposing the hanger horizontally using a level, it drills a second hole.
It remains only to hammer the second anchor, and tighten the nuts with a wrench. By the way, such an open method of fastening does not spoil the appearance of the product, but perfectly complements it.
Here is such a harsh element of the interior turned out. Now it’s immediately clear who lives in this house. On such a hanger, clothes can be hung right behind the collar, without bothering to search for a loop.
