Tired of building experimental aircraft models, and I decided to build a classic model aircraft. My choice fell on, known to many aircraft models, aerobatic model Extra - 300Lx.

Having made the templates, the author begins his work by creating the fuselage.

The author proposes to make the whole model two layers of the ceiling (ceiling tile).

The side walls of the fuselage are cut out, narrow strips of ceilings are glued to them, which create additional structural strength and allow curvature of the outer surface.

All this sticks together. The glue must be used suitable for gluing ceiling tiles - waterproof, universal Titanium "," CIN "or some other.

In the nose of the fuselage gluing is carried out in 2-3 layers of the ceiling, depending on the steepness of the curved parts, the shape of the fuselage.




After gluing, fuselage processing and shaping are carried out.

In the manufacture of engine mounts, the author had difficulties and he used improvised materials for her.




I suggest making a motor mount out of plywood, 3 mm thick. which sticks to the supports. The supports are made of pieces of Penoplex sheet insulation.


Cut a hole for the motor.
There will be a battery.

The lantern of the cabin is made of Penoplex insulation. I think that it is possible to make ceilings from several glued layers, but then the weight of the model will increase.


We try on the cab at the installation site.

Do not forget to mow the engine mount while gluing it.

The stabilizer is made of two layers of the ceiling and is strengthened by slats made of wooden, student rulers.

When installing the tail unit, it is very important to observe a right angle.








The holes formed between the cabin light and the fuselage are sealed with a ceiling.


Preparations are being made for the installation of servos.






The hood is attached to the fuselage with eyelets.






The tail wheel is mounted on the keel with a piece of wire, you can use a large clerical clip.



Starting to make wings, you need to roll blanks from the ceiling with a rolling pin or a small diameter pipe.





To give a profile to the wing, strips of ceiling tiles are glued as well as wooden slats made of rulers.









I understand that a spar with a V angle should be obtained. That's approximately as shown in the figure for the Cessna aircraft model.

Boars are installed, traction is mounted on the tail.






Ailerons are hung. Ailerons are mounted on loops.
The wing is mounted in its place.

Servos are installed.

When installing the motor and checking the alignment, the author did not have enough length of the front of the fuselage, I had to add several layers of the ceiling ... So, be careful when determining the CT model.












Chassis racks and their installation depends on your capabilities. The author used the mount left from the Cessna model.



The regulator is mounted by the author on a clamp.

The author made the chassis racks from a wire with a diameter of 2 mm.
Wing tips are made.

Motor - 1000KV.
(sooooo weak. Its traction is slightly more than half the model’s weight. For aerobatics this is not enough. I recommend to put it more powerful, for example, with traction in the full weight of the model).

The regulator is 40 A.
Screw - 8x6.
Servos - any. I think that these will be just right - MG90S.
Battery battery - 3S 2200 mah.
Flight weight - 650 grams.
Span - 900 mm.

Apart from the electronics - it takes $ 8-10 for a model, this is a tile / substrate, scotch tape, glue, bottles of alcohol to dilute it + by the little things. The smallest bottle of glue is enough for 2-3 models, scotch too, there are scraps from the tiles, so it’s cheaper in the long-term perspective. You can take scraps of foam from a familiar builder, traction, hogs are made from the fact that under your feet, steering wheels are hung on a sickle. Reiki can be glued from rulers, if not from anyone to take. Thin light plywood is available at the fruit merchants market, boxes of which are made in which these fruits are brought in, given from free to “for beer”.
With electronics + 40-50 bucks for such a model, without equipment, of course. This is if the Chinese take it. Prophes are cheap, 50 cents are the easiest, the main thing is to balance them.
