The author of Instructables under the nickname volndawgville presented his mother-in-law and father-in-law for Christmas watches with photos of their children when they were very small. He made a watch case do it yourself from a wooden box from cigars, I placed round photographs on the divisions 3, 6, 9, 12. Making homemade, he did not take pictures of every step - he took only the finished result and the moment of giving, and now the watch is at a distance of several km from it. So for the Instructables website, he decided to reproduce the whole process, this time documenting it.

A 25 mm pen drill makes recesses for gluing photographs. The photos themselves are laminated, then turned into round ones of the corresponding diameter:

Apply three to four layers of polyurethane varnish. After drying, each previous layer is lightly sanded with sandpaper of high gritness, and only then it is applied the next.
Since the clock will not be suspended, but intended to be installed almost vertically, at a slight angle, in a niche in of furniture, the master glues two rubber legs on top to protect it:
The master does not reproduce some steps on a new copy of the watch; their results are visible on the KDPV, where the first copy is shown. On the places of the remaining divisions, even before coating with varnish, he makes recesses with a feather drill of a smaller diameter. Thin discs are cut from a wooden billet of circular cross section of a slightly smaller diameter, stained and glued into these recesses. In the hole intended for the watch, installs it, then puts on the hands, puts the battery in and sets the time.
But this is not the main thing, more important is the joy of the recipients of the gift:
