But without an aluminum heat sink, the tape will overheat and will quickly fail. It is possible to use a PSU with a reduced voltage of about 10 V. But the master makes a step dimmer from eight diodes connected in series. On each of them drops about 0.7 V. You can switch the taps, choosing the voltage supplied to the tape.
Of course, it is better to place such a dimmer in the case, connect the parts by soldering and supplement with a wrench switch. And you can start video calls. You will be seen better than when illuminated by a frontal spot flash, which, moreover, is not available on all devices.
