Soldering Iron Voltage Switch
Hello everybody. Often the included soldering iron is in vain idle while you are busy with something else. Turning off is not an option, then wait until it heats up. To fight complicated voltage regulators is too lazy. Therefore, I came up with a trick. A diode is soldered into a conventional switch. When the switch is in the "On" position, current flows through closed contacts and the soldering iron receives its legal 220 volts. When the switch is in the "Off" position, the current has to flow through the diode and the soldering iron receives 110 volts, that is, it works in the floor. Or as it’s fashionable to say now: “It is in standby mode”. That's all. Glad if it comes in handy for someone!
