Many of you have garage, and maybe just a gate to exit the car. One of the important points is their rigid fixation in the open position, because even a small gust of wind can close the sash and hit the rider car.
In this article, the YouTube author of the Samodelki Vitmana channel tells you how he made the special stops for the gates.
This homemade product is quite simple to manufacture, and for its repetition will require a minimum of tools and materials.

Manufacturing process.
So, the author will make two such devices at once, and here is all the necessary materials.
On a steel square 16X16 mm, the master notes the necessary length of the support bar, as well as a small bevel at its end. Instead of a steel square, it is quite possible to use a steel profile pipe of 20X20 mm.
The workpiece is fixed in a vice, one of the edges is cut at an angle, and the square is cut along the length of the grinder.
As a result, the author obtains two main details for the emphasis.
Further, the author marks and core on the 50th steel corner 60 mm long future holes for fastening screws, as well as two holes for installing the support bar and spring.
On one side of the corner, for ease of use, two edges are cut at a slight angle.
These are the blanks for fasteners obtained.
Also on the steel square are punching marks for the holes of the mounts and the handle.
For fastening screws, holes with a diameter of 4 mm are drilled and countersinked. Holes for M8 threads are drilled on the second side (a drill with a diameter of 6.8 mm is used for this).
So, the holes for the fasteners are countersunk, and also one of the holes is drilled so that the M8 bolt passes into it.
Also, the author drilled the necessary holes in the support strips for the M8 bolts.
Now all the details are ready, one of the edges of the support bar, the master slightly rounded off the grinding wheel. After that, all surfaces are cleaned, and the parts are painted with spray paint.
In order to prevent the edge of the plank from damaging the gate leaves, the author decided to glue a small piece of rubber. He cut it out of a car camera. Glues them on second glue, although you can use any other universal glue.
Everything is ready for assembly. The bar is screwed to the mount, then the spring is pulled, and fixed with screws. In addition, a small handle is screwed to the bar.
So, the device is ready, it remains to fasten it to the gate wing with metal screws.
The support perfectly locks the gate wing, and also it is fixed in the upper position. Making yourself so simple device, you can not worry about the fact that the gates may accidentally close and hit you, or damage your car. If desired, you can fix the shank of the stop between two corners, this will increase the reliability of the structure.
