How to uproot a stump on a site without much difficulty

Surely many faced this problem: they cut down an unnecessary tree on the site, but the stump remained ... Moreover, this stump sits in the ground tightly, the roots are vast ... There are no techniques at hand to pull it out ...
What to do?

I can offer you two ways to remove such a stump from your favorite site without much labor and expense.

Method One (Fast)

We take a drill (drill or something similar) with a drill on a tree with a diameter of about 10 - 15 mm and drill on the stump surface to the maximum (as long as the drill length allows) depth (the more, the better) the hole. The distance between the holes is about 1 cm. Then we take some kind of flammable liquid: turpentine, kerosene, etc., and fill it in the holes obtained in the unfortunate stump. We repeat the procedure of filling the stump with fuel for 3-4 days (depending on the size of the block) for its complete impregnation. After such preparation, we simply set fire to the stump and wait until it completely burns out. As practice has shown, if the holes are made quite well and kerosene was used as a cinder, the stump burns out almost to the ground along with the upper roots in about a day or two (again, it depends on its size).

Cons of this method: you can not apply it if you have peaty soil in the area; during the burning, it is advisable to be present at the site for obvious reasons.

The second way (long)

Very similar to the first, only the diameter of the holes in the stump surface is larger: from 15 mm and more. Pour into the resulting holes without sparing saltpeter to the very edges. Then, abundantly fill the stuffed stump with water. Intensive rotting of wood will begin. We periodically check the stump and, if necessary, add saltpeter. To reduce the evaporation of water, we cover the stump with a film or fill it with straw, foliage, etc. etc.
Rotting is quite intense and the stump disappears from the face of your site in 1 - 2 years (again, depending on its size)

Cons of this method: quite a long period of removal ...

Well, that's all! Which of these two ways to choose, of course, is up to you, dear reader!

And if you think about it, then a worthless stump can turn into a decoration of a summer cottage or courtyard:

Can carve a sculpture

Can make a flower garden

And you can ..... Think about how else to use the stump :)

All the best and success to you in your endeavors !!!

And I used the "symbiosis" of both methods. I don’t remember where I read it, but it worked. The stump was huge. In the fall I drilled “blind” holes, and poured a mixture of kerosene with nitrate. He poured several times, covering the holes with corks. Then he made a bonfire. A stump burned in the ground for several days, despite the fact that a snowball had already fallen .... (Nitrate in the mixture is needed to give off oxygen during combustion - it’s burned to the ground under the ground and burns out)

We advise you to read:
