A simple bird feeder can be made from various materials. I would like to share the experience of creating my homemademade from the remnants of wooden blocks and boards, which can be a pity to throw away, but it’s also almost impossible to adapt.
To create a feeder, we need from the tools:
• hacksaw,
• roulette,
• drill,
• and also a key on 8.
Materials:
• bar 20x45,
• a board with a width of about 10-15 cm,
• 6 furniture corners 20x20 and 12 bolts and nuts m5x45.
To begin with, cut the necessary number of bars of the required size with a hacksaw, namely from a 20x45 bar: 2 bars 18 cm long, 2 10 cm and 2 23 cm long. Next, cut 2 pieces of 23 cm from the existing board, which will serve as a kind of bottom and the roof of the future feeding trough.
The lower part without assembly will present a similar view:
We put on top of a bar 18 cm a bar 10 cm long with a deviation from the edge to the thickness of our board and make a through hole with a drill with a 5 mm drill.
We fix the furniture corner with a bolt and nut. We attach the resulting construction to the board in order to make a mark for the hole.
Similarly, we attach a block 23 cm long, on which a furniture corner was previously fixed in the center.
We make holes in the places marked on the board and fix the bars. We fix the other two sides in the same way.
In order to fix the roof, it is necessary to drill holes in the upper parts of the bars 18 cm long, which are already fixed to the structure obtained above. Next, we fix the roof with furniture corners.
We tie any rope from two ends for suspension.
In the end, we get a rather rough, but reliable design:
