Have you tried the riveting? Pads are prepared in the nails and the base (a little rivet with a file or a hammer). Holes are drilled, the outer sides are corroded. Pieces of wire or nails of suitable sizes are inserted into the holes and riveted. The excess is cleaned with a file, sandpaper. If you do it carefully, you get a class!
