A very small but remote pulse voltage regulator on an LM2596 chip in an eight-pin planar case. It has excellent characteristics and at the same time it heats up minimally, and even that insignificant dissipated energy can be easily removed from the microcircuit by gluing the board directly to the radiator. The use of the MINI-360 step-down module is very extensive: in car, for transformers after voltage rectification, in various generators, for low-power solar panels.
At the input and output are ceramic capacitors to smooth out the ripple, their capacity can be increased by connecting additional capacitors in parallel with the default ones. The output voltage is regulated by a small planar tuning resistor, its resource is not very large, therefore it is recommended to set the required value once and no longer climb to it or replace it with a constant one with the desired resistance (there is even a free platform on the board for it). The inductor may heat up slightly under heavy load. There are no sockets on the board, the wires are soldered directly to the metallized holes on the board.
Another huge advantage of this module is automatic shutdown when a critical temperature of 85 degrees Celsius is reached, such temperature control is very relevant for any device of this type.
