My first motor dog. I decided to do for trips through the forest. Initially, there was only a platform and an engine. Later added a front shield (ram). A very convenient thing, because sometimes bushes and not big trees run across the road. 4-stroke engine 16 l. from. That would have been enough for 9 hp. Well, as they say, it was set. True, I had to grind the engine shaft and mill the keyway. Factory leading and driven shaft, track 500 mm. I did not put the gear because read reviews that do not behave very well in the cold. Set the variator "Safari".

After test trips, there was a need to make a snow protection casing. And things can be put and the protection of the variator, belt. The casing frame is made of PVC pipes. (left from the repair). It turned out durable and easy. Material fabric "Thesa". Sleds bought but modified installed runners from 4 mm steel.

I will be glad to hear advice on finalizing or improving the design.

Well, we must, how we are alike! ))))). My motorcycles are also Jupiter and Sunrise ... Only Jupiter-5 (6.113.01, without a stroller) and Sunrise-3M.
Apparently, the choice of model is also related to the peculiarity of thinking ... Everyone chased after the "Planets", because it is more simple. But the “Jupiter” with its two cylinders is still much more powerful.
As for the "Sunrise", he was chosen according to the same criteria - lightweight and without battery. But then again, of light motorcycles, the most popular model was Minsk. It is more reliable (Sunrise “required attention.” When pressing the kickstarter, its motor made half the speed than the Minsky motor, so all adjustments must be made exactly so that there are no problems with the winding.)
And the Minsk people also chose because, if there are problems with the gearbox, it is not necessary to “stab” the engine. In general, for some reason this “stabbing” caused terrible horror !!! It was believed that this is a highly skilled operation. I don’t understand why ... The first time I disassembled the engine to a neighbor. And there was nothing wrong with that .... At the same time, I was 14, my neighbor - 50! ))))))) He did not believe that I could. Dismantled with his son when he was not at home)))). After that, I gained authority in the village "of the same master as his grandfather!"))))). What to me, the kid, then very flattered. And especially, when “serious peasants” came to ask for something to see from the equipment and “Vladimirovich” turned to me (exactly like that, with emphasis on the second “and”))))). Wow, I'm proud !!!! )))))
.... But ... At "Voskhod", although the power is only 2 horses more, but the torque is not comparable more !!! The motorcycle will be more serious ...))))

For fishing, I bought "Sunrise" lightweight and without battery (which was also a problem). Then “Ural” (“terrible” car). Well, the first vehicle, of course, is a bicycle. Yes, I myself in my youth - an avid motorcyclist. But I already drove Java-350/638, Izh-5, Voskhod-3M, and so on ... (Late 80s). About 49th and 56th only heard. (I saw later, with bikers, as rare). The "grandfathers" then still met, "Planet 2". At that time, there was a motorcycle in almost every yard in the village, but MT or Ural was taken "for farming". Sometimes "Izhi with a pram." Young people went to Minsk 3.112, Voskhod-3M, Jupiter-5 (without strollers, of course), and, of course, Java and ChZ ....
Motorcycles then were not expensive (relatively), were available, and therefore changed often enough. (My grandfather, for example, gave Jupiter 5 for his 16th birthday. And it was not something out of the ordinary ....)

How did you solve the PD-10 cooling problem ?. Once upon a time I did a circular on a launcher. I tried to put a radiator with a fan and just connect it to the launcher jacket. I thought it’s enough “natural circulation. But it was still boiling without a pump .. There were no electric pumps then (I could have removed the magneto), and the mechanical one, while I was thinking how to do it, no longer needed such a circular.)))))
