You drove into a new country home, and sleep ... nothing. Suitable furniture you can’t pick it up right away in the shops, and there’s no money either - it all went to the construction of the cottage. Do not worry - you can "build" a bed yourself. For example, such.
The basis of the bed is an ordinary mattress (one-and-a-half-two-sleeping - as needed). It is hung using a connecting device on two carved backs made of plywood 10-12 mm thick (Fig. 1). On the backs you can burn a picture.
The connecting device (Fig. 2 a, b) is a bar with hooks. There are two such slats on each side of the bed. They make a bar with a hook made of sheet steel bent by a corner 2.5-3 mm thick or cut a steel corner. It is attached to the headboard with screws with countersunk heads on glue.
The reciprocal part of the connecting device is a rectangular steel plate 2-2.5 mm thick with two slots, where the hooks enter. The plate is attached to the mattress with epoxy glue and 5 screws. Previously, a recess is made in the mattress where the hooks will go.
The backs are varnished with PF-283 varnish. The ends of the plywood are covered with dark varnish.
You can make a bed of twigs 12-15 mm thick and a different-sided corner with dimensions of 35x20 mm, in which holes are drilled. The rods, peeled from the bark and painted with aniline paint, are placed across the frame. They are fixed with vinyl chloride or dyed cotton cord (Fig. 3).
It is comfortable to sleep on such a bed if you pull a thick fabric over the rods and put a regular mattress.
If desired, a wrought-iron back is made at the bed (Fig. 4).
