In this article, we will learn, with the help of the author, how to make a silver ring from a spoon. To make it, we need the following
Materials and tools:
- Crossbar (cone-shaped mandrel);
-Anka;
-Plastic pipe;
- mallet;
-Burner;
-Calipers;
-Punch;
-Drill;
-Drill;
-Pliers;
-Tape grinding machine;
-Dremel with a cutting wheel;
-Back paper from 150 to 1500;
-Silver spoon;
Step One: Harvesting
In the first step, the author makes a ring blank. First, the author "anneals" a spoon. Heats it with a burner to red and lowers it into cold water. The author warns that silver cannot be overheated.
Then, laying a spoon on a wooden block, he gently “flattenes” it with a mallet.
Attaching a coin of the desired diameter to the spoon “outlines” it around the circumference. Finds the center of the circle.
Nakerniv drills a hole in the center.
Cleans a hole with a file.
Cut ring blank.
Cleans her up.
Step Two: Ring Formation
He puts a ring on the bolt. Tapping with a mallet along the edge of the ring and periodically heating it, “bends” the edge. The author is in no hurry and does everything slowly.
Then flips the workpiece. It installs a plastic pipe on the ring and, with a light tapping, sits the ring down the bolt, thus giving the ring the desired size.
The following action is not necessary, but it is necessary if there is a goal to make the edges of the ring curved and the middle concave.
To do this, the ring is installed in the anchor and clamped in a vice. Then the ring is turned over and the operation is repeated.
Step Three: Grinding
Then he puts the ring on an aluminum blank and, using a paste and sandpaper, of different grain sizes, grinds the ring.
The ring is ready.
