Despite the fact that the hammock is quite a dangerous place to relax, and for some not very comfortable, many people device remains very much in demand. Of course, this is something, because lying on a hammock you feel like some part of nature. Perhaps, at the same time, the memories of our ancestors, or of ancient people, manifest themselves somehow in us, as it is more convenient for anyone.
PVC pipes can serve as an excellent material for making a hammock. Firstly, they are very easy to find, they are in any hardware store. Secondly, this material is lightweight, durable, easy to assemble, and not afraid of water at all. If you get tired of such a hammock, you can roll it up and send it to the pantry without much effort.
Materials and tools for homemade:
- PVC pipes;
- strong rope;
- two S-shaped hooks;
- anchor bolts (two pieces);

Hammock manufacturing process:
Step one. Choosing pipes
The choice of PVC pipes today is very large, but we need such pipes that will be as rigid as possible. For such purposes, an option called UPVC is excellent, these pipes are strong and rigid. For his hammock, the author chose pipes with an outer diameter of 4.2 cm. Do not buy pipes for a hammock with a diameter of more than two inches, as the hammock will be inconvenient.
Step Two We cut pipes
Having bought the right number of pipes, now you have to cut them into billets. Fortunately, they are cut very easily and you do not need any super-tools. Works can be carried out perfectly with the help of a manual hacksaw for metal, in extreme cases, you can quickly cut it with a grinder.
For the main part of the hammock, the author used pipes 65 cm long. As for the quantity, then proceed from your height. You also need to cut four pipes with a length of 15 cm, they are used to make the headrest.
After cutting, the edges of the pipes will have an uneven surface. The notches need to be removed, for this we use sandpaper. Also sharpen sharp edges, make them smooth, otherwise the pipes may stab and scratch you when using a hammock.

Step Three holes in pipes
To connect the entire structure, in all pipes it will be necessary to drill holes. Their diameter is selected depending on the thickness of the rope that you will use. The author had a hole diameter of 12 mm.

Step Four Putting together a hammock
Now all the pipes can be assembled together. We stretch the rope from both edges. We put on two short tubes along each side of the hammock, they are needed for the headrest.
Step Five Fasteners
Use strong anchor bolts to secure the hammock. We drill holes for them and carefully wrap. It should be noted that the further the bolts are located from each other, the more comfortable the hammock will be, since it will be smoother.
Step Six Hanging a hammock
On both ends of the hammock, put on two long pipes after the short ones, in the end you will get two head restraints. Next, at the opposite ends of the rope you need to make knots. It is imperative that the nodes are reliable, otherwise you could fall and get injured. If you know how to knit knots, proceed, if not, see how the author makes them. You should end up with a loop. In the formed loop, insert the hook and hang it on the anchor bolts screwed earlier.
Seventh step. Test
That's all, the hammock is ready! The pipes perfectly support the body and bend under it, and the pipes perfectly massage the body. According to the author, this hammock can easily withstand a person weighing 100 kg.
If you wish, you can make any hammock length by increasing the number of pipes. The author used only 35 pipes, since he had little space, but this was quite enough. The sensations of using such a hammock are unique and inimitable, as the author believes.
