Those who keep chickens will be interested in a feeding trough made by the master. Food placed in such a feeder is protected from rain, small rodents and birds. The lid of the feeder opens when the chicken is pressed on the lever. To train the birds in using the feeder, it is enough to pour some food on top of the lid for several days. Making a feeder is easy, and some tools can be replaced with others.
Tools and materials:
-Galvanized metal sheet;
-Aluminum strip;
-Two loops;
-Rivet gun;
-Scissors for metal;
-Rule;
-Gon;
-Marker;
- Marking compass;
-Scriber;
-Drill;
-Hammer;
-Apparatus for resistance welding;
-Bending machine;
Step One: The Box
A master attaches a drawing to each part of the feeder. All dimensions in the drawing are given in millimeters. Cut galvanizing 530 * 390 mm. Curves edges 20 mm on each side. Then bends the box with the walls of 85 mm. The master performs all operations on a bending machine.
Step Two: Side Walls
The side walls will be simultaneously the legs of the feeder.
Cuts according to size.
Bends.
The side walls can be riveted to the feeder or, as the author, welded.
Step Three: Lever
The lever opens the lid of the feeder. The lever mechanism will be located on both sides of the feeder. Cuts four plates, two 150 mm each, two 290 mm each. For convenience, folds two plates and drills holes. In short plates, drills two holes along the edges. In long plates there are two holes at the edges and one in the middle.
On the side walls of the feeder, drills a hole and secures the bolt. The bolt will play the role of the axis. Secures a long lever to the axis. At the edge of the lever fastens a short lever.
Step Four: Cover
Now you need to make the lid of the feeder.
According to size, cuts out the lid.
Bends and drills holes for fasteners.
Secures the cover to the housing. Screws the lever.
Step Five: Pedal
It remains to make the pedal of the feeder.
The pedal is also made of galvanized steel. The procedure for making the pedal is standard. Cuts according to size and bends.
Drills holes for mounting.
Secures the lever.
The feeder is ready, it remains to install it on a flat hard surface, pour the feed.
