DIY desktop counter for NodeMcu subscribers

Good day, dear the inhabitants of our site!
In this article, Konstantin, a How-todo workshop, will show you in detail the process of making a simple YouTube follower counter.

Subscribers counter in a wooden case. The author has long come across such counters in various variations, with different displays, in interesting cases.

The author recently arrived Wi-Fi modules on the ISP8266. It was necessary to deal with their work features.

There were no special ideas for checking them, it was then that Konstantin remembered the counter.
We will make the device in a minimalistic design and a compact wooden case, with one display and a power connector.
We will use an LED module with eight seven-segment indicators as a display.

Although the module is designed for 5 V, it works great with the 3 volt Nod MCU.

Although, perhaps the author is lucky and you have to put a boost module up to 5 volts.

For the case, we will choose a nut, since it is a durable and beautiful tree, plus quite cheap.

Estimating the location of the parts, it turned out that the indicator fits on a 75 mm board across.

But it will need to be cut and thin walls made.

Cut two rectangles of approximately 35 X 75 mm.

Mark the location of the display.

First, roughly cut out the window.

We process the file to the rectangular shape of the window.

Then select the back with a dreammill.

Now try on the screen.

Gotta sit flush.

On the second piece of wood, we mark out the platform for the Nod MCU board and the microUSB connector for power.

The band saw will no longer fit, since we need to keep the back wall intact. Therefore, we dig out a flat chisel.

Irregularities are removed with a dremel, we also make a place for USB.

Then we cover the workpieces with oil, and while it is absorbed and dries, you can do electronics.

We remove the contacts from the chamber, as they are too bulky and will hardly be used.

Solder the wiring to the indicator. Plus to plus, minus to minus, D1 to the input of the indicator D2 on Clock in D3 to download.

The time has come for the firmware.

The firmware actually consists of two combined code samples.

For LED module and for youtube and API.

They will need to be connected, both in the description of the original video.

Also links to aliexpress. Wireless module and LED indicator.

In the firmware you need to register the name and password of your Wi-Fi, the google API key and the channel indicator on youtube. Where to get the latter, and how to connect NodeMCU in general, you will find in google.

After everything has worked, it remains to fix the offal in the case.

We fix the part of course with the help of thermal glue. DIY without thermal nozzles and not DIY at all.

Further, in order to fix the halves of the case to each other, you can normally drill small holes and twist small self-tapping screws there.

It can be done easier by simply gluing them to a regular PVA. Coat joints with glue.

Carefully connect both parts of the body.

And, putting a dense protective fabric or a piece of linoleum under the jaws of a vice, we clamp.

After drying, we get a wonderful little thing that can be put on the table. Now you can save time without being distracted by spying on YouTube and knowing the number of signatories.

This device was designed and manufactured by Konstantin, How-todo channel.

All good homemade!

What is the point of a monofunctional product informing about an insignificant parameter that does not require an operational response ?!
Even if for the manufacture of "rake" a chisel and use the "Dreammel". )))

This is an ethical moment. You logicians do not understand xaxa
