Table for a circular saw with a guide (transverse cut)

In a previous article, the Wizard showed us how to make a guide, for a circular saw, for long longitudinal cuts. In this article, he will show us how to make a table with a guide for transverse cuts. With the help of this fixtures You can cut the material at an angle of 90 or 45 degrees. To make the table, the master used the following

Tools and materials:
-Boards;
-Plywood;
-Centimeter;
-Plastic covers with thread;
-Fasteners;
- Clamps;
-Marker;
-Gon;
-Circular Saw;
-Drill;
- Canvas for metal;
-Hacksaw;

Step One: Foundation
The master makes the base of the table from multilayer plywood. The size of the table should meet your requirements. A piece of 63 by 81 cm is cut from a plywood sheet. A 5 * 5 cm block is attached to one of the wide sides. A guide will rest on the block. If the thickness of the material you cut is more than 5 cm, then you need to attach a larger bar.

Step Two: Guide
Now you need to make a guide for the circular saw. The master measures the distance from the edge of the sole of the saw blade to the blade minus 1-2 cm. Cuts the board along this width. The length of the board is equal to the width of the table. It cuts three rails, one for supporting the opposite edge of the sole, two for the sides.

Fastens the sides to the large and small support.

Step Three: Support Bar
The guide will be attached to two bars, the front is already fixed to the table, now you need to make the back. The master puts two halves of the guide on the table and installs a saw on it (under the guides you need to put a block so that the disk does not rest against the table). Measures the distance between the sides at the beginning of the middle and the end of the guide. The distance should be the same everywhere. Cuts a block equal to the measured size.

Screws the bar to the table.

Step Four: Install Guide
Now you need to attach the guide to the table. When installing the guide, it is important to maintain a right angle. The master uses a square and, after alignment, secures the rail with clamps to avoid shear during fastening.Then he drills the holes and fastens most of the guide with screws.

Screws the second (smaller) part of the guide. Here it is also necessary to observe a right angle and the distance between the sides. The sole of the saw should move freely along the guide, while it should not hang. After the guide is fixed, the master lowers the disk and makes a shallow cut in the table.

Step Five: Cut at 45 degrees
To be able to accurately cut the board at an angle of 45 degrees, the master fixes a block oriented at this angle on the table.

To check, the master cuts off two bars at an angle of 45 degrees and, combining the angles, gets an angle of 90 degrees.

Sixth step: focus
In order to cut the material of the desired length, the master emphasizes. The emphasis is a clamp made of wood. Put emphasis on the desired mark and fasten on the bar. When cutting, for example, a rail, it will abut and the segments will be all the same length. In principle, an ordinary clamp can be used for this purpose. In the materials listed, the master indicates a centimeter on an adhesive basis and although it is not visible in the photo, it can be assumed that he pasted it on the inside of the support bar.

The table with the guide for the circular saw is ready.

The entire manufacturing process can be seen in the video.
