DIY shelf

Good day to all, dear the inhabitants of our site!
In this article, Anatoly, the author of the LePilkin62TV channel, will tell on the Trudy Masters channel how to make a decorative shelf with an original design.

Materials
Square beam 32X32mm, about two meters.
A board of 25mm, 50cm or more, depends on the size of the shelf you need.

First, he drives the cubes into one square section 32X32 mm, and at the same time the shelf itself - a 24-25 mm thick board - through a thicknessing machine. The material is pine.

Whetstones are cut into one size. The author cuts them off at 90 degrees. The size of the bar will depend on the width of the shelf itself. In the future, the author will make fastenings of the shelf from these blocks. He stocks up such pieces of 12 pieces.

Then he forms the corner joints: each block is inserted at an angle of 45 degrees and thus cuts off the corner on all 12 blocks, first on one side ...

Then he flips the block and cuts it already from the back, but not in the same plane, but also turning the part 90 degrees. So he processes six pieces.

The author turns the remaining 6 bars once again by 180 degrees and also cuts off under the mustache. Anatoly emphasizes that all this must be done with emphasis so that there is strictly one size.
This is how its bars look: that is, the mustache is directed in one direction and in the other direction.

He is going to make an angular connection on microchips. For this, the author puts a milling table, a mill for such works.

... and drives these little sticks through her. The work is simple, but Anatoly recommends doing it carefully, not in a hurry.

So he drives away all the planes that were previously cut off. It should turn out like this washed down on all the bars.

Then the author applies glue to all faces and ....

Simply connects two elements with your hand. The connection is very strong. “The main thing here is to observe the angles,” the author notes, “so that the connection is at 90 degrees.”

Then he first collects the structure from three parts.
One ...
Then another ...
And then he connects these two structures with each other and immediately checks all the angles. It is important to correct immediately if something has receded before the glue has hardened.
This will look like fasteners on one side, and the same will be on the other side of the shelf. The author does not use clamps in the compounds, considering them unnecessary here. The shelf, according to the author, does not carry a large load, and the connection is already very strong.

It looks like one part. The second design for the shelf will be the same.

As soon as the glue hardened, Anatoly removes the cloves on the grinding machine.

Then he measures the marks on the shelf where he will make a slot - a groove. This must be done from two sides.

It cuts a groove with a hacksaw - it turns out faster.

First on one side of the board, then on the other. He makes cuts to the depth of blocks or a little less.

Chisel hollows out grooves on both sides.

... and cleans. If everything is done exactly, everything should coincide.
At the end, Anatoly assembles the structure into one. Everything came together great!

It remains to cover with oil or varnish.

And hang on the wall.
Thanks to Anatoly for detailed instructions and an original idea!
