Good day, today I want to show you how I made a lighter from a water adapter (half an inch by three quarters).
To make a lighter, I needed:
adapter (1/2 to 3/4)
plug (1/2)
brass rods of different diameters
brass sheet
nuts, bolts (m3, m3.5, m4)
various little things from Soviet electrical parts.
And so for starters, I turned the adapter with a dremel, removed all the seams and unevennesses. Then he drowned holes with a large diameter (3/4) and turned it on a lathe
The body base, in principle, is ready to move on to the mounted. I made the wick mount from a brass bolt on m5
(made a groove under the rubber seal and drilled a through hole in the bolt for the wick)
Then from a brass bar 12 mm.
I have machined a miniature faucet (gate valve)
The valve on the crane made of brass parts in my opinion from a Soviet burner
Further, a part for fastening a silicon wheel was made of a 5 mm rod and sheet brass
Everything hinged soldered to the lighter body
So the picture looms. Now you need to make a cover for the wick and mounts for it. For the lid, I used spare parts from Soviet electrical parts, cut off something under the ground in some places, and I got such a lid for the wick from three parts, which I solder later on.
To fix the lid, I made the bracket and holder from sheet brass and nut on m4, which I connected to each other with a brass bolt on m4.
Well, the lighter is almost ready to make one part cover for refueling the lighter with gasoline. At first I wanted to make the cover out of just a plug, but it seemed to me kind of boring and I decided why not make another compartment for a spare wick and silicon there, in short, I assembled such a design from two plugs (mom, dad) and parts from crane axle boxes
I turned it all and soldered it in one piece
Now all the details are ready)))) to the next step, namely, you need to clean everything, polish and apply a patina using ammonia vapor, then polish it again easily. As a result, after the manipulations done, we got such a lighter "20 by 15".
