Hello everyone, in this instruction we will consider the process of manufacturing a very simple press for the garage. With it, it is very convenient to remove or install bearings with very little effort, and it doesn’t matter, you need to work with a shaft or sleeve. The machine is made of very simple materials, a hydraulic jack is used as the main power element.

Materials and tools used by the author:
Material List:
- channel (80);
- profile pipe (square, 40X40, wall thickness 3 mm);
- steel corner;
- hydraulic jack;
- bolts, nuts and other little things.

Manufacturing process homemade:
Step one. Base
As a basis, we will need a piece of channel 80 with dimensions of 40 cm. We will need to drill holes in it, matrices for installing or removing bearings will be installed in them.
Step Two Frame
At this step, the author assembles the frame, for its manufacture a profile pipe with a wall thickness of at least 3 mm will be needed, since considerable loads are obtained here. We cut the workpieces and weld the frame. Vertical posts must be welded to the base at a right angle, if curvature is allowed, the guide may wedge. It is convenient to work with magnetic welding squares.
Step Three Guide
It remains to make a guide on which we will install the jack. The author also makes it from a profile pipe. Special brackets from the corner are installed at the ends of the rail, thanks to which the rail travels up / down racks. And so that the guide can be removed, it is attached to the brackets with bolts and nuts. At the end, the author sets the springs so that the guide itself returns to its original position. The springs should be quite powerful, since you need to lift the jack and overcome the rod pressure.
Under the rod, by the way, in the upper part you need to make a special emphasis, for this a piece of a round pipe in diameter of the rod is suitable.
Step Four Test
That's all, our miracle machine is ready, you can experience it. To begin with, the author tried to remove the bearings from the old anchor; to do this, the pullers did not work. His machine easily coped with this task.
As another example, the author pressed the bearing into a steel sleeve, it turned out quickly and efficiently.
