Today, together with the master, we will learn to make a fireplace grate from stainless steel. This is the author’s first experience in working with stainless steel and will be assisted by a more experienced craftsman.
So, for the manufacture of a fireplace grate, the master used the following
Tools and materials:
- Profile stainless pipe;
- Stainless steel bar;
- Stainless sheet metal;
- Stainless mesh;
-USHM;
-Welding machine;
Cutting machine;
-Hammer;
-Grinder:
Epoxy resin;
Grinding and polishing wheels.
Step One: Frame
The wizard begins with a frame. Cuts a profile pipe at an angle of 45 degrees. Using the template and the grinding machine aligns the mating angles.
Step Two: Holes
On the transverse blanks of the frame makes markup. Drills the marking holes. A rod will be inserted into these holes.
Step Three: Grinding
Before welding, the frame grinds the parts.
Step Four: Lattice Details
The next step is the master procures the details of the grate. Slices rods of the desired length. Curves using a pattern. Cleans.
Step Five: Frame Welding
Welds the frame. Cleans the seams.
Step Six: Grid
Inserts the bars of the lattice into the holes in the crossbars of the frame. Levels, fixes with cross rods. Welds the ends of the rods to the frame. Welds the middle of the grill.
Cleans welding spots.
Seventh step: grid
Welds a frame from a rod. Glue a grid to the frame.
Welds the frame with the mesh to the grill.
Step Eight: Feet
The legs the master made of sheet metal. Cut according to the pattern. Welded along the edges of the rods. I ground and welded the legs to the grill.
Everything, the fireplace grate is ready.
