Do-it-yourself fireplace imitation

Hello, friends the inhabitants of our site! I want to tell you how do it yourself You can make a beautiful "imitation of the fireplace" from the available materials. After each repair, several meters of wallpaper, packing cardboard, glue, skirting boards, slats, and planks remain. All of this can simply be thrown away. I offer you my option for using these materials.

To build a fireplace, we need the following materials and tools.
1 - two boards 2.5 cm thick, 115 by 15 cm in size;
two boards measuring 110 by 15 cm;
small metal corners -8 pieces;
self-tapping screws 50 mm and 19 mm long, 20-25 pieces each;
5 m of wallpaper "pebbles";
5 m of wallpaper under a decorative tile;
5m decorative skirting boards;
5 m stroke for wallpaper; some wallpaper glue and cardboard from the packaging.

2 - a hacksaw for wood;
electric drill;
hammer;
glass nails;
screwdriver;
stationery knife.

The assembly is done as follows.

Step 1.

We cut four boards according to the indicated dimensions, and four wooden corners with a right angle side of 15 cm.

Step 2

We assemble the fireplace frame using metal corners, 2 pcs for each connection. For greater stability, I installed wooden corners between these corners on long self-tapping screws.

Step 3. The frame is assembled. On both sides, we nail cardboard with glass nails.

All this is shown in the photo.

Step 4. On the front side, mark the hole for the furnace. Then cut it with a clerical knife.

We glue the side, upper and lower parts of the hole cut out with cardboard, gluing it to the back wall. At the bottom of the cut hole we make a decorative fence made of cardboard, and glue it.

Step 5. We glue the frame of the fireplace with wallpaper with the image of stones. Set aside the fireplace to dry to the side. It dries about a day.

Step 6. The wall to which the fireplace will be placed is pasted over with the second remaining wallpaper. This will be the so-called (imitation of the portal). Glue a stroke on the glued strips of wallpaper on the sides. Glue the last remaining wallpaper under the tile to the back wall of the cut hole.

Step 7

We glue the decorative baseboards on the front of the fireplace. We put the fireplace against the wall.From the wrapping packaging for flowers, cut out strips - an imitation of fire, and glue them at the bottom of the fireplace insert.

We decorate the “portal” with decorative paintings and watches. We put ceramics on the fireplace.

Everything, the fireplace is ready.

Santa Claus comes (according to legend) just through the chimney! smile

I heard from one joke that he once got out like that, and even though there was no one in the room, he was walking on TV ... So he didn’t have time to take out the rest of the gifts that year — he got stuck in the pipe when he got out .)))))))
So am I about that. And therefore, many now put fireplaces and hang socks on them.
DIY imitation of cognac ...
It seems that we are able to imitate drinks! smile
Santa Claus comes clown
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that their Santa Claus comes (according to legend) just through the chimney! smile
Well, why so? For example, I also made a "simulated fireplace" (there is a profile. My very first home-made, posted here). True, I did a functional thing disguised as a fireplace - this is actually a kamod with an air humidifier built into it. And the fact that he was made "under the fireplace" - so I immediately, initially, did STYLISHED! That is, to make it immediately clear that this is just a decorative element! Although, in my “fire” it is very similar to the real one. (On the machine several times I threw pieces of paper at the “fire”.)))))
Well, what is there ... Yes, I agree ... "Kindergarten hack." I would not want this to be in the room.)))
Unless, "in tribute to the Pindos fashion," the owner considers the fireplace to be a "Christmas symbol", and instead of Santa Claus on his sleigh, he comes to the reindeer clown Santa Claus, in which Coca Cola turned St. Nicholas to please marketing ...
I look forward to a photo of simulating whores with my own hands and a photo of simulating cognac with my own hands ...
Yeah, the fireplace glued with wallpaper inside - that’s another joke! I recalled the drawn hearth of Papa Carlo! smile
