Manufacturing process.
In the hardware store, Steve buys wire containers in which it is convenient to store small items - eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. These boxes will be on an elegantly decorated hanging cabinet. There will be three shelves in the cabinet to fit three trays. And the top shelf will be designed for pencil holders.
The entire product will be made of poplar wood in 20 mm thick. First, he cuts 4 sections of 90 mm wide and 300 mm long, and two side panels 90 x 650 mm.
Then, from a poplar, he cuts out another element of 128X350 mm, from which he will make an arch - a kind of decorative element. He cuts the corners of the workpiece on a band saw.
With the help of a percussion musical instrument - cymbals - he outlines the contours of the upper line of the arch. The bottom line will not be so smooth. The author wants this part to have the same width in all its parts. At first, he made a mistake by drawing the lines twice with a cymbal. The second line of the arch should be slightly smaller radius.
Here, the author resorts to a corner that he leads along the upper edge of the board and at the same time outlines the contours of the lower edge of the arch.
All edges of the arch are carefully trimmed and ground.
The shelf looks good! There are a couple of little things left: cut the sides of the shelf slightly along the length and round off their corners on the grinder, slightly alter the upper part, probably cut the side panels at an angle and round the corners, and also think about the transition between the side panel and the arch itself.
Now the master connects the side walls and shelves with the help of a neiler. He glues the bar to the middle shelf below, so that the organizer can be screwed to the wall.
In this form, the shelf looks much better.
He places the nails into the material with PVA glue mixed with wood dust.
It remains only to tint. White paint will look very elegant and fresh.
This gift Steve prepared for his daughter. To emphasize the personality of the organizer, the master glues the daughter’s initials on the upper arch. The author cuts letters from black hazel wood and opens with aerosol varnish.
This is really a very simple project - just a few trays and a couple of cups from the hardware store - and you can make a wonderful ladies' shelf.
