Construction of the Stinson "Voyager 125" aircraft model - USSR-A629

And again, hello dear model designers.
Today I’ll tell you how my friend built an amazing aircraft model that he wanted to build for a very long time and hatched the idea of creating this model for many years.

The prototype of this model was this aircraft.
Construction of the Stinson

The author was not going to create a copy of this aircraft and during the construction of this model gave full freedom to his imagination. Moreover, the author did not find any more good drawings for building the model.

I want to immediately warn that the construction of this model requires some preparation by the aircraft modeller in the construction of such models.
The basis of the model is spars made of pine slats with a section of 6 X 5 mm.

The mounting location of the chassis and floats is enhanced especially carefully.

The power part of the fuselage is reinforced by another frame.

During operation, the installation of all structural elements at right angles and their symmetry are checked especially carefully.

Fully mounted design of the rear fuselage.
The design is light and neat.
The engine mounting location is amplified.

Work begins on the creation of a stabilizer and keel.
The main work begins on the wing, which will consist of two consoles.

Blanks for ribs are made.

Blanks are made for wingtips.

Places for mounting aileron control servos are being prepared.

The close-fitting of the wing begins.

This is how the model’s frame looks, to the close-fitting one.

The motor is mounted and the nose of the fuselage is formed.

The sidewall of the fuselage is formed, the position of the door is determined.

Work is underway on the manufacture of boars for LV and RV.
For their manufacture, 2 mm wire and an aluminum profile are used.
The author applies the technology of manufacturing wild boars for cordless aircraft models.

Hinges for mounting rudders are made.
The tail steering control assembly is mounted.

Wing struts are installed

The author proceeds to detail the model. This is what the cabin and dashboard look like.

Set hogs on ailerons and flaps.

Work on the creation of the model is completed.
Photos of the model before the first flight.

Photos of the first flight and at the starting position.

My story has come to an end. To my great regret, the author never showed the video flight of this model.

Bye.

Yours, Valerian.

This work is Andrei Vladimirovich Fedorenko. And he is not your friend.
Also with his son they assembled a model of a glider from a set. Everything there was possible with minimal weight ... and paper for pasting the wings "cigarette" (it seems so called). And a primitive airplane model on a rubber engine ... And a foam plastic airplane model with a collector electric motor (Soviet from toys). Then there was no BLDC made in China ...
Well, as if planes from the ceiling are pretty new-fashioned thing. And 30 years ago, in fact, when the author still went to an aircraft modeling club, EVERYONE made models from balsa and pine. I myself remember how to assemble a glider from a set, normally it flew.
I will express my opinion. I prefer flying models, at least from the ceiling. When pulling from an electric motor with batteries! it matters both weight and windage, etc. TTX. And you can show your aerobatic skills, etc.
And what is presented here? Initially, the design (prototype) is not bad. And in real life - wooden sticks (balsa?), Pine slats, spar on the spar ... are glued ... Well, yes, the benz engine will pull this jalabu. And by the way, which one? And what is the total weight? Sailing (resistance), wing area ?? A person likes to grind, glue (fasten) wood lumber. No compromising.
