Making an original oil candle

Oil lamp - a lamp based on the combustion of oil or fat. An oil lamp has been used since the Paleolithic era. In ancient times, oil lamps were made of stone, clay, or made of copper and other metals. Nowadays, oil lamps are used more for decorative purposes.

The master decided to make an oil candle, using tile and stone as a decoration.

Tools and materials:
-Tile or stone;
-Glass jars with metal thread;
Lyuversy;
-Glass balls or pebbles;
-Cotton fabric;
-Glass cloth;
Epoxy resin;
Coconut oil (liquid);
-Watering can;
-Drill;
- Diamond tubular drill;
-Glue gun;

Step One: Wick, Oil
The master tested several types of wicks and oils for the lamp.
The simplest wick is a cotton cloth. Such a wick burns well, but is charred when the oil runs out.

The second type of wick is fiberglass. Such a wick is difficult to get, but, with a lack of oil, it simply goes out. In further steps, the manufacture of such a wick will be considered.

To check the oils, the master chose oil of rapeseed, corn, olive, coconut. Liquid coconut oil works best. It burns well and does not give soot.

Step two: first lamp
The master shows the manufacture of several fixtures with various materials. The first lamp is made with square tiles. A hole is drilled in the center of the tile. Inserts a grommet into the hole.

Makes a wick. It can be made of cotton fabric, but can be made of fiberglass. Slices a strip of fiberglass. Folds up a straw. Glues bottom with hot glue.

The oil container will serve as a glass container.

Stones in a bowl. On the tile, around the circumference of the bowl, glue is applied. Glues the tile to the bowl.

Fills the tank with oil.

Inserts a wick.

Now it remains to wait until the wick is saturated with oil and set it on fire.

Step Three: Second Lamp
The second lamp is a little more difficult to manufacture. For him, the master took a rectangular long tile and glass jars with metal carvings.

Marked and drilled three holes in the tile.

A threaded joint is glued to the bottom of the tile.

Makes wicks.

Banks fills with stones and fills with oil.

Sets wicks.

Ignites the lights.

Step Four: Stone Lamp
The master made the last lamp of slate stone. The steps for its manufacture are similar to the previous ones and the author showed us a ready-made result.
