In the yard is winter. Not a good and satisfying time for "our smaller brothers." Birds are finding it increasingly difficult to find food, and constant snowstorms exacerbate the process of finding food at times. Therefore, many caring people build feeders and install them in gardens, parks or in the yards of their own houses. And if you approach this matter creatively, calling imagination to help, then in the end you can get not only a simple place for feeding birds, but also a beautiful decoration for your garden. If you connect the younger generation to the creation process, then you can instill a sense of responsibility and concern for weak creatures in children!
I present to you a fairly simple to manufacture, but at the same time very beautiful bird feeder, which just can be made on cold winter evenings with children.
To work, the author needed 25x15mm wooden blocks. Having decided on the size, he sawed the bars. Processed their edges.
Putting them on the table, I figured out what the side walls of the feeder would look like.
Since the bars will be fastened together not only with glue, but also with self-tapping screws, the author pre-drilled holes in them so that when screwing the self-tapping screws they do not split the workpieces. Having estimated what will happen, the author proceeds with the assembly.
The walls of the feeder are ready. It's time to start assembling the roof. From the tree is cut a triangle-pediment. It is attached to the back wall. After that, the author cut out space for windows in the side walls. The frame is finally going.
Starts to collect the roof. The same bars that went to the construction of the walls are fixed to the side walls. By cutting the ends of the attachment to the sidewalls at an angle, we achieve the same angle as the pediment on the rear wall. The roof is covered with small sections of lining. We fit the pipe and with the help of wooden corners we ennoble the edges of the roof. The base of the feeder is made from a piece of plywood.
After the main work is completed, the author makes window shutters and a fake door. The finished product is completely painted.
In the end, it turns out just a great dining room for birds! It remains either to hang it with the help of cables on a tree, or fix it on a branch and pour food!
