I make a new head on him. From a sheet of 0.7 mm I bend the U-shaped part and drill the mounting holes for the standard mount. Not perfect, but sat on a regular seat.
On the side surfaces with Velcra glue, this is half of the Velcro with hooks, self-adhesive, previously degreased with acetone.
I fix sandpaper on it. Sandpaper under Velcru, with a special layer on the back. It is fixed by a deflection in the middle, this deflection is needed to cover the workpiece in a circle.
Tests, takes both radii without reconfiguration, polishes very well. For a larger radius of the part, a larger deflection of the emery cloth is needed.
And I experienced full radius grinding on the old handle of a shovel, everything works
