Everyone who has come across wood processing is well aware of the fact that a huge amount of fine dust is generated during the surface grinding process.

The process of processing the workpiece.
So, to begin the experiment, the master tore off two strips of sandpaper of 180th gritness from the tape.
And he began the standard dry grinding of the workpiece. Here you can clearly see how the sandpaper is clogged, and fine dust flies around in the air.
The master recommends using this SKYDD mineral oil, which he purchased in Ikea. This oil can even be used on surfaces that come in direct contact with food. He briefly left to soak a strip of sandpaper in oil.
And he began to grind the surface of the workpiece already with oil. No dust is formed, the part is impregnated with oil.
In addition, the sandpaper itself is not clogged with dust, all trash with drops of oil flows down.
When the desired result is achieved, the master removes excess oil with a rag.
This surface quality turned out only after processing the 180th sandpaper!
The author did not stop at this, but brought the grinding to 1000 grit, saturate the surface with super glue, and polished it to the 1500th grit. Only this stage cannot be carried out when processing objects in contact with food.
Here is such an interesting way the master recommends. The surface of the wood is completely protected from moisture, and is very smooth.
Of course, this method is applicable not only to a lathe, but also for processing flat surfaces.
