Manufacturing process.
To begin with, the master prepared the necessary materials, for this homemade work he will use an array of bog oak and ash.
Next, Alex begins to manufacture the case of the box. He grinds a cylinder from an ash blank and drills a hole with a Forstner drill. Then cuts the workpiece
At the end of the workpiece, he drills holes for the rope, and cuts the workpiece into two parts. It will be the bottom and cover.
The edges of the workpieces are polished on a tape machine.
After processing, the lower part of the workpiece has slightly changed in size and does not coincide with the lid. The master squeezed it with a clamp, and glued it to a stained oak workpiece.
The second part of the body sticks only after the glue dries.
Next, the author proceeds to the manufacture of the cover; a sealing insert is glued into its central part. It is needed to fix the cover in the correct position.
Now the master marks the circle, and cuts off the excess material on the band saw.
Again returns to the lathe, and grinds decorative elements. After turning, the parts are ground and treated with linseed oil.
Then the master pulls the rope through the holes in the body and cover.
And for the decor, he thought it would be interesting to look at the coin on the front of the box.
That's the beauty that Alexey got. It is quite presentable and functional.
