Manufacturing process.
First of all, the master cuts the pine beam along the length into several blanks.
Using a circular saw, she prepares boards for the body and lid of the chest.
The sharp edges of the workpieces are processed with a manual planer.
Then glues several shields, and fixes them with clamps.
After the glue dries, the surfaces of the shields are sanded with an orbital machine.
Uneven ends are cut with a circular saw.
Next, the master glues the bottom of the chest from the prepared panels.
Now he cut out two radius blanks for the side walls of the lid, and secured them to the top of the drawer with clamps.
Glues two strips to the front and back of the lid, fixes them with a neiler.
Then the master removed the lid from the drawer, and continued to install the remaining slats.
After the glue dries, it treats the surface of the lid with a planer.
To decorate the edges of the lid and drawer, the master cut several narrow plates.
Glues them around the perimeter, fixes with a neiler.
Also, small strips are glued at the corners, and four legs at the bottom corners.
With the design of the lid of the chest is a little more complicated, this will require arched blanks.
The side arches are glued, now the upper ones are needed.
Further, the author glued the lining for the lock, and connected the lid to the drawer with furniture hinges.
The next step in surface treatment is brushing.After brushing, the wood texture became deeper.
Now he burns all surfaces with a gas burner, and polishes them with sandpaper.
For even more "aging" of surfaces, the master impregnates them with a stain.
It remains only to establish various elements of decor. The author drove decorative carnations with a golden hat into the arcs, and screwed the lock into place. Also installed side handles.
On the lower part of the legs he glued sheet rubber using a second glue.
