Hello everyone !!! The other day I forged 2 knives at the same time and suddenly I heard a noise, the rattle and the impeller in the forge jammed - I thought the coal hit and jammed. Having examined everything, I saw that the engine was unscrewed from the horn snail body, it was fastened on four small bolts under a screwdriver, somehow flimsy, so that the engine must be disassembled to screw it into place. After a little thought, I decided not to take it apart in vain, I had to put in a new engine, the old one was completely tired, and it was very noisy, a couple of hours and my head ached from the noise, it was very hot and the whole shaft was sorted out, especially the whole curve. Here is this poor fellow old engine
And so, I proceed to the treatment of my faithful best friend.
And so I need a tool
- Drill
- Bulgarian
- Three 6mm bolts
- The key is on 12..13
- Screwdriver
- An hour of time a couple of cigarettes
Here is the view after removing the bowl and grate
Here is a photo of a fallen impeller
I remove the snail from the frame by unscrewing 4 bolts. Now unscrewing the bolts, half the snail
Here is the mounting of the impeller to the motor shaft
After running around a bit with friends and acquaintances, I still found here such a new suitable engine
Having tried the engine a little, it turned out that the stiffening ribs on the cochlea interfere, it seems that they will not play a special role. Balgarka made slots, as often as possible so as not to break the excess
I carefully knock down the cast iron with a hammer, then grind it with a grinder
I am trying to drill a hole at 6mm
I screw the engine into place, everything is conveniently arranged
Here is the inside view of the bolts I do not grind, so it will be harder to cling
I put the impeller in place, collect the snail
I turn it on, it’s not catching anything, the engine is running very quietly
I put the bowl in its place
And just in case, for convenience I put the machine, otherwise I’m tired of yanking the plug
I decided to check how it works now. I kindled it and even forged the knife, but another time I’ll tell you
Now everything works like new, the engine whispers, well, that’s all the repair ended successfully, I’m satisfied.
I hope someone this article will be useful. Thanks to all. Until next time
