Aircraft model for slow flights, for "relaxation"


Hello dear guests. Good health to all!

Today I want to show on the example of the author’s article how to build a radio-controlled aircraft model for slow flights, so to speak, for “relaxation”.

This model not very difficult to manufacture, although it requires some skills to build aircraft models. But I am sure that the novice aircraft modeller will cope with the construction of this aircraft model, having applied her diligence, accuracy and most importantly - the desire to build this model.

As you already understood, having seen a photograph of an aircraft model, we will talk about the Pitts aircraft model.

The author proposes the construction of this aircraft model from ceiling tiles (ceilings), and I propose to build this model from another material. I propose to use a simple, sheet substrate under the Laminate to create this model, for several reasons. Firstly, the dimensions of the substrate sheets 1200 X 500 X 5 mm allow avoiding butt gluing of some parts, the ceiling having dimensions 500 X 500 mm does not allow this, and secondly, the thickness of the substrate allows, in some cases, to be glued without two layers.

According to the drawings attached by the author, it is easy to make patterns and cut individual parts of the model from the substrate. Drawings are given in A4 sheet size.

For bonding of individual parts, the universal, moisture-resistant glue "Titan" or any analogue thereof is used.


The author begins work with the fuselage.



Carefully glue the stabilizer, check the horizontal.

When working with wings, do not forget to make the V corner only on the lower wing. The spar can be made of a wooden, student ruler or a suitable rack.






Ailerons can be hung on ordinary tape or double-sided tape.
As the glue dries, you can stretch the wings with colored tape. Color the model to your liking.

Install the servos.

After trying on, mount the lower wing on the fuselage.



Before installing the elevators and rudders in their places, cover them with colored tape. Spend a hitch on an adhesive tape.





Connect steering drafts.




Glue the engine mount.


Check the correct installation of the upper wing relative to the lower!


So your model is ready.

The author did not leave a chassis model, due to the fact that there is no runway. The model is launched by hand. If you wish, you can make a chassis of any design, the main thing is not to disturb the alignment and not to weight the model.

A few words about the characteristics of the model and the proposed electronics.

Weight with battery - 450 g.
Motor - D2830-11 1000Kv.

The regulator is 30 A.

Screw - 10 X 4.7.

Servos - TG9e

Battery - 3S 35C 100mAh.
