Hello to all fans of craftsmen, today we will consider how to make a useful nozzle for a grinder. Such homemade makes it easy to grind corners with a grinding disc, where you can’t crawl with a grinder. An author with such a nozzle grinds welding seams when welding profile pipes. Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Fore part
First of all, we will produce the bow, this will be the axis on which the cutting or grinding disk will be installed. As the axis, you need the axis that is wrapped in the Velcro nozzle for grinding work with sandpaper. We weld a piece of a threaded rod to this axis so that the axis can be fixed. Next, you need two washers and a steel ring (piece of pipe), from these parts we weld a pulley. To weld the washers, the author drilled holes in them and then welded the washers to the core through the holes.
After manufacturing the pulley, we press on suitable bearings on the axis and fix the axis with a nut. As a housing for bearings, we use a piece of a round pipe. We increase the diameter of the pipe to the desired one, and then we weld the gap with a piece of metal.
Step Two Clamp
We make a clamp so that the nozzle can be fixed on the grinder. The clamp is needed for the part on which the shield is installed. You can bend the clamp from a steel plate or you can pick up a piece of pipe by diameter. To tighten the clamp, weld the nuts and use a bolt.
Step Three Drive pulley
We make a driving pulley, which is mounted on the shaft of the grinder. You will need a nut that fits the grinder shaft by thread, also a piece of pipe and two washers. The inner diameter of the pipe must be such that the nut comes into it tightly, thereby centering.You can find a pipe of smaller diameter and grind the outer diameter of the nut directly on the grinder. We install a piece of pipe on the nut, and also scald the structure with washers on both sides. That's all, the pulley is ready, it can be screwed onto the shaft of the grinder.
Step Four Frame
We make the frame for the nozzle, for this we need two pieces of pipe of different diameters, one pipe must go into the other to get a "telescope". Thanks to this design, you can tighten the belt, and for fixing we use a bolt that is wrapped in a welded nut.
Step Five Painting and testing
We paint metal parts so that they do not rust, and then you can assemble the homemade product. We tighten the belt and you can turn it on. To avoid unforeseen troubles, it is better to start the launch from the first speed. After making sure that everything works well, the author turned on the revs more. Homemade works perfectly, it has become very convenient to process corners.
In addition, a polishing disk can be installed on the shaft, so polishing will become much easier, and you can process hard-to-reach spots.
