Souvenir mini machete made of stainless bolt and brass

Hello dear readers andthe inhabitants of our site!
I am sure that almost every one of you is interested in a different type of knives and knives.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel “my mechanics” will tell you how he made a souvenir miniature machete from a stainless steel bolt and brass plates.

Materials
- Stainless steel bolt
- Brass blank
- steel bar
- Double-sided tape
—
- Sandpaper
—
- Machine oil.

Instruments, used by the author.
- Grinding machine, felt and grinding wheels
- gas cutter
—
—
-, stripping and cutting discs
- Belt sander
- File, file
- Drilling machine, drill bits for metal
- Anvil, vise, hammer, pliers, knife, marker.

Manufacturing process.
The author will use such a stainless steel bolt as the main material for this homemade product.

First, he grinds the thread from the bolt.

Then he warms up the head, and loosens the bolt in several passes.

The resulting workpiece is fixed in a vice, and roughly processed by a grinder with a grinding wheel.

Attaches a template to the workpiece, and outlines the contours with a marker.

Excess material is removed by the grinding wheel.

Here is such a blank.

The master aligns the workpiece plane on a belt sander.

Now prepares the shank, and prepares the slopes.

For high-quality processing of descents, the master uses a conductor, to which he glues the workpiece using double-sided reinforced tape.

Now both planes become parallel.

With the help of a file and a file, it processes the contours of the shank, forms a guard.

Marks the holes for the pins, focusing on the template, and drills them. The stainless steel is rather difficult to drill, it is necessary to use oil.

Saw two blanks for the handle pads from a brass blank.

Glues them to the shank, and drills holes for pins in the linings.

Pre-assemble the handle, insert the pins into it.

Coarsely grinds the linings with a grinding wheel.

Marks the contours of the shank, and removes excess material.

Using two-component glue, collects the handle, fixes it with a clamp.

After a day, the glue froze, and you can continue to grind the handle.

It remains to make roundings.

Now follows the step of grinding the surface with fine sand paper.

On a belt grinder pre-grinds the descent of the blade.

Polishes all surfaces using a felt pad and abrasive polishing paste.

The machete blade is finally sharpened on water stones up to 6000 grit.

So, the souvenir is ready, and even very well sharpened.

Here's a beautiful souvenir from the master.

I thank the author for the interesting implementation of the souvenir machete!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
