I think the question is not HOW to apply it, but WHERE. The option when it is a pity to throw out the working motor, but several factors interfere with using it for some kind of machine (sharpener / engraver / drive something) - firstly, it does not have its own case (the rotor and stator are arranged in a common plastic case with gearbox (now defective), and this body has a rounded "pear-shaped knob with a handle", without any mounting pads (attached to the end of the tube-tube into which the flexible shaft goes, compressing it with its halves). -second - the specificity of the motor (collector with very high speeds).
I’m thinking of trying to make a "garden wind turbine) out of my own))). But, this is in a couple of years. Now there is no time. Construction ...

I could not disassemble the electric trimmer. Isn't there a pulley on the shaft? Make a groove for the cotter pin, but cut the thread?
