Perhaps many of you in your practice have to deal with profile pipes, as well as various types of connections.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel "Be Creative", tells you about one of the ways to beautifully bend the profile pipe at an angle of 90 degrees.

This connection is very reliable, and has an aesthetic appearance. It also lacks sharp external corners, which are undesirable for various furniture designs and sports equipment.

Manufacturing process.
First of all, the master measures the bend point of the profile pipe with dimensions of 40X40 mm. After that, he marks the transverse lines on all sides of the workpiece.


Now one of the important points. The author notes half the width of the pipe, and lays it off the first line. Also marks the longitudinal lines around the pipe.



For radius marking, either a compass, or any round object of suitable diameter, is suitable.


This radius line is drawn from two opposite sides, and the places to be removed are marked.



On one side, slots are made between the first two lines.




Next, two sides are removed.


The resulting workpiece is slightly bent in the opposite direction, and then in the opposite. This results in a right angle with an external fillet.





The workpiece is seized on both sides.

Then all the seams are thoroughly boiled.

After slag removal, the surfaces of the welds are treated with a flap disc.

Do as in the video, and you won’t succeed. Checked. Only if you find a circle with a radius in the width of the profile wall and cut quite freely, then pull. No half-widths need to be postponed. There is a formula for the circumference of -2Pr. The rounding, or rather its length, is the fourth part of a circle with a radius equal to the width of the shelf. For example, if the profile width is 40 mm, then the desired distance is (2 × 40 × 3.14) /2=62.8 mm. Roughly 63mm. This distance needs to be postponed, and an arc with a radius of 40 mm should be drawn from it (profile width) And only then everything will converge amazingly!
