Greetings to connoisseurs of unusual things, today we will look at how you can pour your face into epoxy. This is a great way to capture your face forever, if desired homemade can be a night lamp, if you insert a couple of LEDs, you can always admire your glowing face, well, or, give your portrait to your beloved. The project is not complicated in the assembly, but you will need a lot of dental substance, which is made by casts for prostheses and so on. Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Cast your face out of silicone
First of all, we will make the formwork into which the mass will be loaded for the manufacture of prints. The author made a formwork of cardboard, everything can be glued with tape or film, this mass is not fluid.
Next, mix the dental mass with water and load into the formwork. Everything is ready, now you need to insert your face into the dental mass and wait one minute, while it will be impossible to breathe, so you need to pre-train not to breathe for a minute. In order for everything to go smoothly and safely, it is better to smear your face with cream or some kind of fat.
That's all, now we have a ready-made mold for pouring, and we will fill silicone. We use two-component silicone, fill it in a mold and wait. After a while, you can gently extract your face, this sight is not for the faint of heart. There may be defects on the face, the author carefully cut them with a clerical knife.
Step Two Resin Pouring
We make the formwork for pouring epoxy resin, it must be airtight, the author assembled the formwork from acrylic. We glue all joints well with hot glue so that the resin does not run away.At the bottom of the formwork we lay our silicone face and can be poured, a little dye can be added to the resin to your taste.
Step Three Final touches
When the resin hardens, the formwork can be removed, if there are difficulties, we use a gas burner or a building hair dryer. That's all, after cutting the defects to pour, we get our appearance in epoxy. Everything looks original, however, your face will be visible only in general details, it does not really look like a real one.
