Surely many of you have been faced with the marking of pipes, or other round products into sectors around the circumference.
In this article, the author of the SAID MADE YouTube channel will tell you how to do this in a very simple way.
Materials
- paper
- Insulation tape
- steel tube
- Scotch.
Instruments, used by the author.
- Marker, knife
— Calipers.
Manufacturing process.
For example, the wizard will show this technique on trimming a steel pipe. Turners have a special scale for this, with its help such markup is done very quickly and accurately.
However, with this method you will not need any complicated fixturesnor knowledge of trigonometry.
You will need ordinary paper.
A strip of 2-3 cm wide is cut out of the paper, and wound around the tube with a slight overlap. The outer edges should match.
Marker makes circular markings on the workpiece.
Then the knife is cut along.
It remains to measure the length of the resulting strip, and divide by the required number of sectors. The author will be divided into 3 sectors.
Now the result is set on the caliper, and the marks are transferred to the edge of the strip.
The strip is again wrapped around the tube, and its joint is fixed with tape, or insulation tape.
Marks are transferred to the surface of the workpiece.
Here is such a simple and fairly accurate markup method.
Thanks to the author for the easy way to mark sectors!
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
